At Ysgol Tan y Gopa, we are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

We recognise that every child is unique and that some pupils may require additional support to help them access learning or overcome barriers to their education. Our experienced staff work closely with pupils, parents and carers, alongside a range of external agencies, to ensure that appropriate support is provided to meet individual needs.

Where a child is identified as having an Additional Learning Need (ALN), support is carefully planned, monitored and reviewed in partnership with families. Where appropriate, pupils will have an Individual Development Plan (IDP), outlining their strengths, needs, agreed outcomes and the support they will receive.

Our Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo), Miss Cheryl Crabtree, works closely with staff, families and specialist services to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.

We believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning or development, we encourage you to speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance. They will be happy to discuss your child’s progress and, where appropriate, work alongside our ALNCo to ensure the most appropriate support is in place.
