All primary-aged children in Wales receive Universal Primary Free School Meals. However, if your family receives certain benefits or is on a low income, it is still important to apply for Free School Meal Benefit.
If you are eligible, you may also be able to claim the School Essentials Grant, which provides financial support towards the cost of school uniform, footwear, PE kit and other essential equipment.
Making an application also provides additional funding to Ysgol Tan y Gopa, helping us to purchase resources and provide extra support for our learners.
Applications can be made online through Conwy County Borough Council. If you are unsure whether you qualify, we encourage you to apply or contact the school office for advice and support.
You may be eligible if you receive:
- Universal Credit (within the earnings threshold)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
- Child Tax Credit (subject to income criteria)
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
